Saint Martin Restaurants
Best Saint Martin Restaurants
Obviously, a good vacation must include delicious meals. If you have a grill master or top chef in the family (or at least someone willing and able to try), the villas offer fully furnished and modern kitchens as well as grills outside with an ocean view. However, it is totally understandable and perhaps even recommendable to try the variety of exquisite Saint Martin restaurants and Sint Maarten restaurants.
Top 6 Saint Martin Restaurants
Particularly the French side, Saint Martin, gave the island the honor of being known as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean. Fine dining is taken seriously and can be found all throughout the French cities. Nothing feels better than showering off all the beach sand, putting on that pretty sundress or button up (or t-shirt if that’s more your style) and heading to a nice Saint Martin restaurant once the sun has gone down and the twinkling lights have turned on.
1. La Place d’Orient
This number one is actually an adorable square in Orient Bay with numerous extraordinary restaurants. Lé Piment, Le Bouchon and L’Atelier are among the many great restaurants there. Every dish is a masterpiece in its presentation and taste. Each meal we had there has been delicious. To top it off, the atmosphere is the best. Ocean waves crashing in the background, French whispers from surrounding tables, children dancing to the background music and occasionally a few stands selling some handcrafted home decor or jewelry in the middle of the square.
2. Ocean 82
Located in Grand Case, this restaurant is worth all the hype. Especially if there is a special occasion; birthday, anniversary, family reunion – celebrate at Ocean 82. It overlooks the ocean and has a stylish interior to go along with the fantastic food and experience. This whole street is known for its upscale dining experience. Many visitors staying on yachts will be dropped off for an evening out in Grand Case
3. BZH
Marvelous cuisine and unlike anything you will find back home. On top of the superb main dishes, there is also a menu of hearty crepes, including our favorite the BBQ chicken. Enjoy one of their many fine wines, cocktails or beers but be aware, you will get a full carafe of their fruity liquor afterwards that is sure to leave the whole group feeling very happy… and a little tipsy. Luckily, this restaurant is located in Oyster Pond, very close to the Sint Maarten Stays villas.

4. L’Oasis
Another delicious restaurant conveniently located in Oyster Pond, near all the villas – especially Palm Paradise. You’ll be sure to find something you love here. Additionally, there is often live music and always a wonderful, lively atmosphere.
5. Rancho Del Sol
Although slightly less fancy, Ranco Del Sol doesn’t make our top five for nothing! Located beautifully on a hill in Orient Bay, this restaurant has mouthwatering Mexican food as well as other options bound to make the whole family happy.
6. O’Plongeoir
Needing a nice dinner after some shopping or yacht viewing in Marigot? Check out O’Plongeoir. Located right by Marina Fort Louis, this restaurant not only has amazing drinks and food, but also great views and a fun international vibe.
Top 6 Sint Maarten Restaurants
On the Dutch side, Sint Maarten, there are many beach bars and restaurants providing a more laidback type of afternoon or evening out. BBQ, especially ribs and chicken, with a bucket of beer and a steel drum playing somewhere in the background is the vibe often found in the Simpson Bay or Philipsburg area.
Here is a list of our top 5 Sint Maarten Restaurants:
1. Chesterfields
This restaurant is a 10-minute drive from the Sint Maarten Stays located on Juancho Yrausquin Blvd, Dock Maarten Marina, right next to the Cruise Ship Port in Philipsburg. Chesterfields offers breakfast, lunch and dinner options. They have a delicious catch of the day, lobster, other seafood options and many non-seafood choices. This is some of the best food on the Dutch side. Furthermore, the restaurant is right along the water and always has a nice peaceful atmosphere.
2. The Greenhouse
Happy hour – except all day long and any beer/cocktail/shake/smoothie is two for the price of one. If that isn’t reason enough, the food is also good and both locations (Simpson Bay and Philipsburg) are located on or near the beach.
3. Buccaneer Beach Bar
Located in Simpson Bay, Buccaneer is one of the places to be. You can enjoy the sun at Kim Sha Beach and make use of their beach chairs and a get a great deal on a bucket of beers. Alternatively, you can relax around the fire pit or grab some dinner. Additionally, if you love good food as much as a good deal, on Monday and Tuesday from 5-7pm there is all you can eat ribs and chicken for $11,99 and Pizza Thursday from 5-7. There are many other great deals that can be found on their Buccaneer Beach Bar Facebook page.

4. Sunset Beach Bar
Of course, Maho Beach must be on the to-do list while at Sint Maarten. If you prefer not to get sandblasted but instead watch the planes with a cocktail or burger in hand – go to Sunset Beach Bar. There you have the best views of all the takeoffs and landings while enjoying a delicious lunch. If you rented a car at a Saint Martin car rental, parking in the parking lot is free. Just get the restaurant to stamp your parking ticket.
5. Emilio’s
For more upscale dining on the Dutch side, Emilio’s is a nice restaurant. It is located near the World’s Steepest Zipline, the Flying Dutchman.
